'Doctor Who' (5.13) "The Big Bang" - Review

Time travel stories rarely make any sense at all, some more than others though. This series' finale? Full of time travel mistakes which kept me from enjoying it fully.

    'Futurama' (6.2) "In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela" - Review

Airing immediately after "Rebirth," "In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela" is the weaker of the two premiere episodes. That's not to say it wasn't funny - it was - it's just that the episode seemed to start strong and slow down as it went on.

Peter Jackson To Direct 'Hobbit' Films

Peter Jackson did such a great job on the Lord of the Rings movies, it was pretty disappointing when it was revealed that he wouldn't be directing The Hobbit films. Guillermo del Toro was a great second choice, but he just quit the films because of delays, so once again the films were left without a director. Who would take them over?

If the report from Deadline New York is to be believed, it looks like fans are about to get their initial wish, as Peter Jackson is apparently going to direct the two Hobbit films after all.

    'Futurama' (6.1) "Rebirth" - Review

    Futurama's back, baby! Again.

For the second time since the show was canceled by those morons at Fox, Futurama returns after a period of uncertainty. After the DVD movies, we didn't know if these characters would return, but like Billy West recently said, this show's too good to die.

    'Toy Story 3' – Review

When I heard that Pixar was revisiting the Toy Story movies, I was all kinds of excited. I love the first two movies, especially the first, of which I have fond memories going to see at the cinema. Then the fear of inferior sequels set in and I got a bit scared that it would be a letdown. However, I am pleased to say that Toy Story 3 is not only up there with the originals, but it possibly surpasses them. This movie was phenomenal.

    'Merlin' (2.11) "The Witch's Quickening" - Review

With the second season winding down, I was hoping that some major storylines would start to appear. Luckily, this week, that is what happened. I wasn't expecting the (unfortunately) oft-ignored Morgana to be the catalyst to the story.

    'Ultimate Comics Spider-Man' #11 – Review

I was beginning to wonder whether this current six-parter would start to shape up with a proper storyline. So far, we've got some decent character development, with Kitty being persecuted for being a mutant, but the shape of the story arc is still unclear. This issue doesn't actually advance the plot any more than past issues, but it sure ends with a nifty bang.

HBO Orders Fourth Season of 'True Blood'

The third season just aired its second episode of the season, but the show has done so well these past two weeks that HBO has already gone and announced that the show will be receiving a fourth season come next year. The fourth season will shoot this fall for an airing come next June.

'Doctor Who' (5.12) "The Pandorica Opens" - Review

I've decided that in order to fully appreciate Doctor Who, I must turn off my mind and stop analyzing the time travel mechanics employed in the series. I could go on about effect & cause, action & consequence, but that would just sap the enjoyment right out of this first part of the two-part season finale. Right from the beginning, we see a bevy of characters from this past season trying to get a message to the Doctor. It starts with Vincent van Gogh and ends with River Song planting coordinates on the oldest planet in history. Naturally, the TARDIS knows just where to take the Doctor, eventually leading him to Roman-occupied Britain, where River is posing as Cleopatra. This is where the true story begins.

Nintendo Says Children Shouldn't Play 3DS

Anyone else highly confused that Nintendo - a company known for making kid friendly games - is warning against kids playing their Nintendo 3DS with the 3D turned on? Apparently kids under seven shouldn't even be watching 3D movies (Toy Story 3 lawsuit anyone?) and this isn't supposed to be anything new coming out.

"We will recommend that very young children not look at 3D images," warned Fils-Aime, adding, "That's because, [in] young children, the muscles for the eyes are not fully formed...This is the same messaging that the industry is putting out with 3D movies, so it is a standard protocol," he explained. "We have the same type of messaging for the Virtual Boy, as an example."

Xbox 360 Slim Already Breaking Down

Microsoft just announced the Xbox Slim at E3 last week, and wouldn't you know it, but the new systems are ALREADY breaking down and suffering from the same Red Ring of Death problem that the system already had.
