'The Clone Wars' (2.13) "Voyage of Temptation" - Review

On the way to pleading her case with the Senate, Duchess Satine under the protection of Obi-Wan and Anakin, becomes the target of an assassination attempt. This episode explores the romantic relationship that Obi-Wan and the Duchess had on one of his missions on Mandalore while he was still Qui Gonn’s padawan.
'Fringe' (2.15) "Jacksonville" - Review
Mon, 02/08/2010 - 10:04 — Vrej Hezaran
Right from the start, you could tell that this would be a special episode of Fringe. Marked as the winter finale, you knew they'd pull out all the stops to make it a memorial episode until the series resumes in April. So in the opening, a bizarre earthquake centralized at an office building in New York causes those inside the building to turn into grotesque husks of humanity. When the fringe team shows up, the lone survivor has two faces and plenty of arms and legs. It was absolutely gross. Before he dies, the mutated guy mentions his wife, but records show he's never been married.

'Captain America' Joining USO Show For Movie
Mon, 02/08/2010 - 09:12 — Jason Van Horn
It can be hard to adapt comics into movies, as there are some elements of one medium that aren't as easily acceptable in another: case in point the upcoming Captain America film. Instead of just throwing him out there wearing the red, white, and blue, the writers/director are going to have that be a costume he wears for USO shows in order to hopefully make it more realistic.
"The costume is a flag, but the way we're getting around that is we have Steve Rogers forced into the USO circuit. After he's made into this super-soldier, they decide they can't send him into combat and risk him getting killed. He's the only one and they can't make more. So they say, 'You're going to be in this USO show' and they give him a flag suit. He can't wait to get out of it."
Three More Actors Join 'V'
Mon, 02/08/2010 - 08:55 — Jason Van Horn
Three more actors have just joined the cast of V and many of them should be familiar to fans of the sci-fi/fantasy genre. Charles Mesure (Xena: Warrior Princess), Nicholas Lea (X-Files, Andromeda) and the lovely Lexa Doig (Andromeda, Stargate SG-1) will all be joining the show when it returns.
"Mesure will pop up as a black ops mercenary hired by the resistance to bolster their forces. Lea will be playing Erica's (Elizabeth Mitchell) ex-husband in what William Keck says is a two-ep arc. And Loig will be an OB/GYN who is taking care of the alien-impregnated Valerie Stevens (Lourdes Benedicto)."
'Flash Forward' Losing Its Showrunner
Mon, 02/08/2010 - 08:50 — Jason Van Horn
You better get your Flash Forward fix while you can when the show returns, because with yet another showrunner is leaving - this time co-creator David Goyer; it looks like all the mice are abandoning ship before it all sinks and goes down. There's always a chance that this "could" be a good sign, but more than likely, don't expect Flash Forward to make it past a first season.
World Ending - 'Avatar' Drops From Number One Spot
Mon, 02/08/2010 - 08:43 — Jason Van Horn
Avatar just received a bunch of Oscar nominations this week, but that new buzz worthy news didn't help the film enough to keep it at the number one spot. After seven weeks spent at the number one spot, Avatar has finally fallen to second place, ending up right behind the new film Dear John. I guess people like sappy love stories revolving around people being sent off to war...or maybe they're just hoping for a sequel to The Notebook (same author).
'Caprica' (1.2) “Rebirth” – Review
Fri, 02/05/2010 - 09:51 — Karyn Methven
This takes place after the bombing and the subsequent downloading of Zoe’s virtual self into a Cylon body. Joseph Adama still cannot reconcile himself to a virtual Tamara, but sees that he cannot go without her, so he tries to ask Greystone to see her again, but her matrix was lost when Greystone downloaded Zoe.
'Dollhouse' (2.13) “Epitaph Two: Return” – Review
Fri, 02/05/2010 - 09:45 — Karyn Methven
In this last episode of Dollhouse, we go ten years in the future to 2020. Yep, I’d be an old gal by then, but not yet ready for my walker. I can take on the butchers that rule L.A. And do they rule. Zone and Mag get out with Caroline by the skin of their teeth and then get captured by the last stand of Rossum’s men and taken to Neuropolis. Echo and Paul are already there and cause havoc in their rescue of the inhabitants and killing off Clive 2.0 and Harding.
'Merlin' (2.5) "Beauty and the Beast: Part One" - Review
Fri, 02/05/2010 - 09:35 — Vrej Hezaran
I often can't put my finger on the tone that Merlin wants to hit as a series. Most of the time, it's light adventure, but then sometimes we get true menace. Sometimes still we get an episode like this one that seems menacing on the surface, then becomes light, and then becomes almost cartoonish.
First Trailer For 'Fallout: New Vegas'
Fri, 02/05/2010 - 08:55 — Jason Van Horn
I love that they mimicked the original Fallout 3 trailer for this one. It's interesting to see the Wall-E like robots working in a junk pile, only to show a glittering Vegas that doesn't seem to have fallen apart at all. And then at the end, it looks to me like California is going to wage war over New Vegas. Looks hot.
'Lost' Promises To Deliver An Ending
Fri, 02/05/2010 - 08:50 — Jason Van Horn
The most recent news regarding Lost's finale is that it's been set for May 23 - a Sunday. As for Cuse and Lindelof, they had this to say about their promise to actually end the show.
"It's not like we're leaving anything that we were going to resolve left unresolved so that people can go see it in a movie theater," said Lindelof. "We worked so hard to basically do something that we didn't feel had ever been done before, which is taking a heavily mythologized show and arguing for an end date three years out. So we feel like it's kind of a slap in the face to all of the fans ... [for us] to not deliver an ending."
Is 'Percy Jackson' The Next 'Spider-Man'?
Fri, 02/05/2010 - 08:47 — Jason Van Horn
Logan Lerman - who will next be seen in the big screen adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief - is apparently the leading candidate to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the reboot that Sony is working on since the fallout with Raimi and how the movie should progress.
"There have been a few discussions, it's definitely something I'm looking into," Lerman informed Access Hollywood on Thursday. "It's just, you know, conversations are starting. It's a long process with the studio and the producers and everything. But it's definitely a project that I'm really interested in, of course."
