'Dead Space' Game News

I'll admit it: I'm usually a wuss when it comes to horror games. I can rarely beat them. Resident Evil? Nope. Silent Hill? Nope. The one exception is Dead Space, which I absolutely loved, and gave it a perfect score when it was released. I can't wait for Dead Space 2 to be released, but just announced news has the game releasing somewhere between January 1 through March 31, 2011.

The other Dead Space news is regarding Dead Space: Extraction, which I haven't played yet. The title was thought to be a Wii exclusive, but a recent survey suggests that the game could be coming to Xbox Live and PSN and could cost only $15.

Also, a game called Planet Cracker was announced, which is also being rumored to be a spin-off of sorts to the Dead Space franchise, where rewards won from it could transfer to supposedly Dead Space 2.

"Described as a 'resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation,' Planet Cracker focuses players on attempting to 'maximize their daily profit' and 'defending their hard-won ore from Space Pirates.' Sounds like Ore Tycoon aboard the USG Ishimura. Planet Cracker was billed in the survey as an extension to the story of Dead Space 2 and could yield "in-game rewards" for the retail version of the sequel, similar to the Fable II Pub Games that preceded Lionhead's role-playing game and netted players in-game gold."
