'Green Day: Rock Band' Releasing June 8th

My favorite band of all-time is Green Day and Dookie was the first CD I ever bought. Though I've kind of fallen out of love with the rhythm genre of games, I'm such a big fan of the band that it's goig to be a must buy for me when the game releases on June 8th.

New 'Super Mario Galaxy 2' Trailer Looks Excellent

At a Nintendo event that just happened, Nintendo revealed that Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be coming out on May 23rd. Yeah! The even better news...this trailer they just released.

    'Dead Space' Game News

I'll admit it: I'm usually a wuss when it comes to horror games. I can rarely beat them. Resident Evil? Nope. Silent Hill? Nope. The one exception is Dead Space, which I absolutely loved, and gave it a perfect score when it was released. I can't wait for Dead Space 2 to be released, but just announced news has the game releasing somewhere between January 1 through March 31, 2011.

The other Dead Space news is regarding Dead Space: Extraction, which I haven't played yet. The title was thought to be a Wii exclusive, but a recent survey suggests that the game could be coming to Xbox Live and PSN and could cost only $15.

Also, a game called Planet Cracker was announced, which is also being rumored to be a spin-off of sorts to the Dead Space franchise, where rewards won from it could transfer to supposedly Dead Space 2.

"Described as a 'resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation,' Planet Cracker focuses players on attempting to 'maximize their daily profit' and 'defending their hard-won ore from Space Pirates.' Sounds like Ore Tycoon aboard the USG Ishimura. Planet Cracker was billed in the survey as an extension to the story of Dead Space 2 and could yield "in-game rewards" for the retail version of the sequel, similar to the Fable II Pub Games that preceded Lionhead's role-playing game and netted players in-game gold."

'Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars' Announced

Okay, I'm officially calling it - Traveler's Tales is milking the hell out of LEGO games. Take for example their Star Wars games. I had no problem with them covering the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy, but now they've just announced Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars. Really? A new Lego game based on the cartoon series? So the franchise has proved so popular you need to find some way to continually milk it.

Don't be surprised when you see Lego Star Wars 4: The Novels announced. I can already see the Lego cutscene where the moon falls on Chewie.

'No More Heroes 2' Launch Trailer

The first one is still my favorite game on the Wii. I can't wait for this sequel to release next week. Here is the launch trailer for the game:

    'Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom' Character Primer

I want to get Tatsunoko vs Capcom next week so badly, but I'm already getting Mass Effect 2 and No More Heroes 2. Do I dare buy three games in one week? Argh! Curse you thin wallet and week of quality gaming!

For those who might not be familiar with the Tatsunoko characters involved in the game, here is a nice primer for you to watch.

'We Cheer 2' (Wii) – Review

I've always had a certain fondness for cheerleaders – many of my high school crushes were on the school's varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders. Also, if the Bring It On series has proven anything, it's that being a guy on the team isn't a bad place to be. With that said, however, I never could see myself being a member of the cheerleading team. So imagine my surprise then when the unexpected We Cheer 2 showed up at my door and forced me to become something I'd never thought possible – a cheerleader. Another thing I'd never thought possible was me actually liking We Cheer 2, but that's exactly what happened.

'Food Network: Cook or Be Cooked' (Wii) – Review

The idea of a cooking game never really appealed to me, as I'd actually like to be rewarded for my actions. I want to eat! I was willing to give the genre a shot, however, after Food Network: Cook or Be Cooked ended up on my doorstep just waiting to be reviewed. I have a Wii and enjoy the Food Network, so it should be a win-win situation…right? Well, not so much. Playing the game is like getting part of the way through a sandwich only to find the bread is moldy in the middle – it was good to start, but once the mold is discovered the whole thing becomes tainted.

New Wii 'Zelda' Not 100% Tied To 2010

Link's got a new DS adventure coming before this year's over, but when it comes to the Wii, he's being less committal on when he could be returning. While big Nintendo properties such as Mario and Metroid will have 2010 releases (unless something changes), a new Zelda isn't confirmed yet for next year.

"We haven't committed to Zelda in 2010," Reggie Fils-Aime elusively said. Keighley (GameTrailers TV host) clarified that Miyamoto has so far said the game is "tracking" for 2010. "That's what he said, and we'll see how that continues to develop," retorted Reggie.

'Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo' (Wii) – Review

I've played a ton of Dragon Ball Z games, but haven't been privy to a Dragon Ball game since the old-school Dragon Power back on the NES before I was even aware it was based on a manga/anime. I've watched all the Dragon Ball Z episodes, but only the first few arcs of Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo is a unique game for the series, as it's a side-scrolling adventure beat 'em up, which helps fill in some of the later arcs I haven't seen yet. It's not a great game, but it is pleasant enough.

    'Spore Hero' Soundtrack – Review

Gamers often overlook videogame soundtracks for the most part, despite the fact that some of gaming's top moments wouldn't be anything if not for the haunting melodies and thrilling tunes that drive home the emotional undercurrents lurking under the surface of the gameplay. When it comes to composers, most people are unaware of the actual people behind the songs that drive their gaming, unless it involves someone like Final Fantasy's Nobuo Uematsu. Winifred Phillips is another composer you should become familiar with – if you aren't already – and a great place to start is with her latest work: the soundtrack of Spore Hero. There's a reason why this soundtrack is up for an "Original Score – Videogame" award at next month's Hollywood Music in Media Awards.
