'Halo: Reach' Video Released
Wed, 03/03/2010 - 09:11 — Jason Van Horn
The first game footage of Halo: Reach has been released and it looks mighty fine and exciting. It's only of the multiplayer beta, but it looks great nonetheless. There are some surprising additions in this game based on the video: some cool assassination kills, a dodge roll, flying jetpacks, and what looks to be a massive invasion mode. Definitely check the video out!
Trailer For 'Borderlands' DLC - The Secret Armory of General Knoxx
Wed, 02/24/2010 - 08:55 — Jason Van Horn
I quit playing Borderlands a while back after a flood of new games came along that required me to play them. After seeing this trailer for the new DLC - The Secret Armory of General Knoxx - that just came out, I'm really thinking of stopping what I'm doing, starting up a new character, and then working on playing that so I can get all the DLC released. Watch the trailer for yourself to see how great it looks.

Fri, 02/12/2010 - 09:20 — Jason Van Horn
For those who bought Halo 3: ODST, you received word that you'd be one of the lucky ones to get in on the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta whenever it goes live. At Microsoft's X10 event yesterday, it was revealed that the game's beta will start on May 3rd. So, if you want to play in the beta, you better make sure you have a copy of ODST to pop into your system.
'Darkest of Days' Getting Film Adaptation
Fri, 02/12/2010 - 09:02 — Jason Van Horn
WTF? I mean, seriously, WTF? Darkest of Days, one of the worst videogames I've ever played, is going to be getting the big screen adaptation by writers Douglas Cook and David Weisberg (The Rock).
For those who don't know about the game:
A) Congrats!
B) It's the story of a MIA soldier from Custer's Last Stand who gets taken to the future in order to be a history preserving soldier to make sure the future unfolds as it is supposed to (you know, the Butterfly Effect)
New 'Borderlands' DLC Raising The Level Cap
Fri, 01/29/2010 - 09:34 — Jason Van Horn
Gearbox just announced the newest upcoming DLC for Borderlands, which is going to be called The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. There's no word yet on when it's coming out, how much it will cost, or even what the DLC is about, but it will include new environments, enemies, items, guns, and maybe most important of all, it will also raise the level cap of the game. No word on what it will be raised to, but it will be raised.
Original 'Aliens Vs Predator' Game Super Cheap On Steam
Mon, 01/18/2010 - 10:08 — Jason Van Horn
If the wait for the upcoming Aliens Vs Predator game is too much for you to take, you might be interested in jumping on an excellent deal over on Steam, where you can get the original game for only $4.99. The game doesn't have its multiplayer right yet, but that's set to change.
'The game has been updated to play on modern rigs with DirectX 9.0c, and features all of the single player content of the 2000 Aliens vs. Predator Gold Edition version of the game. Unfortunately there is no multiplayer for now, although in talking about the rerelease with IGN earlier this week, Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley said, "We will in due course fix up the multiplayer -- and we'll make sure it's a free download."'
'Halo: Reach' To Have New Multiplayer Mode
Fri, 01/08/2010 - 09:43 — Jason Van Horn
The gameplay has been tweaked, but the Halo multiplayer modes and gameplay remained somewhat the same until Halo 3: ODST released with its new Firefight mode. When referencing an interoffice contest at Bungie, the company revealed, "Some number of players will square off against some number of other players in what will undoubtedly be a rousing and highly competitive game of something we're not talking about yet! Points awarded for doing all kinds of untold stuff!"
What could this new multiplayer mode be? Maybe players will play as The Flood in a Left 4 Dead type of Versus mode.
'Call of Duty' To Say "Good Morning Vietnam"?
Fri, 01/08/2010 - 09:24 — Jason Van Horn
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was the biggest gaming release of last year, so it's no surprise to see another Call of Duty game is on the way (at least according to rumors). The rumors are also suggesting that the game won't be a part of the Modern Warfare 2 line, but will instead be focused on a war that hasn't been used too often: Vietnam. Nothing is officially yet, but that's the rumor going around.
