First Look At 'Silent Hill 8'

Sony Announces PS3-Exclusive 'Dead Space 2' Limited Edition

When it comes to multiplatform games, I generally always go with the Xbox 360 version. Things might have to change when Dead Space 2 comes out, because it was just recently announced at E3 that the PS3 will be getting a limited edition version of the game, complete with a PS Move supported edition of Dead Space: Extraction. Two games in one package - sounds great.

'Alan Wake' Gets New Trailer and Collector's Edition

It was just revealed that Alan Wake will be getting a limited edition version of the game, which will set you back $80 if you purchase it. Here's what you'll get:

    * Game Disc in box with unique art
    * Exclusive In-Game Audio Commentary and Hints by Remedy
    * “The Alan Wake Files” – a 144pg book that includes a short story written by Alan Wake and compiles the FBI dossiers investigating the events in Bright Falls, WA
    * Exclusive Audio Disc with Soundtrack and Score
    * Game Add-on token redeemable on Xbox LIVE for the first Alan Wake add-on content pack
    * Exclusive Xbox disc with special content: Alan Wake Xbox Live Theme and Alan Wake Avatar for Xbox LIVE

The content doesn't sound too terrible, but not amazing either. Meanwhile, here's a new trailer for the game that just premiered too.

    'Dead Space' Game News

I'll admit it: I'm usually a wuss when it comes to horror games. I can rarely beat them. Resident Evil? Nope. Silent Hill? Nope. The one exception is Dead Space, which I absolutely loved, and gave it a perfect score when it was released. I can't wait for Dead Space 2 to be released, but just announced news has the game releasing somewhere between January 1 through March 31, 2011.

The other Dead Space news is regarding Dead Space: Extraction, which I haven't played yet. The title was thought to be a Wii exclusive, but a recent survey suggests that the game could be coming to Xbox Live and PSN and could cost only $15.

Also, a game called Planet Cracker was announced, which is also being rumored to be a spin-off of sorts to the Dead Space franchise, where rewards won from it could transfer to supposedly Dead Space 2.

"Described as a 'resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation,' Planet Cracker focuses players on attempting to 'maximize their daily profit' and 'defending their hard-won ore from Space Pirates.' Sounds like Ore Tycoon aboard the USG Ishimura. Planet Cracker was billed in the survey as an extension to the story of Dead Space 2 and could yield "in-game rewards" for the retail version of the sequel, similar to the Fable II Pub Games that preceded Lionhead's role-playing game and netted players in-game gold."

'Alan Wake' Possibly Coming In May

Like most people, I've been waiting for Alan Wake forever. Delays have plagued the game, but it's always getting one step closer to finally releasing. The latest rumor is that Alan Wake will be releasing sometime in late May. Still a long time away and anything could happen, but hopefully that release window will stick and we'll see the game sooner than later.

    'Dead Space 2' Getting Multiplayer?

I could somewhat see multiplayer being added to Bioshock 2, though I doubt I'll play it outside what I need to for review. I'm going into Bioshock 2 to enjoy the story, much like I did with the original game. Dead Space falls into the same category as Bioshock for me - I want the single-player story and that's really it. Unlike with Bioshock, however, I can't see multiplayer in Dead Space being any count or done that well, unless multiplayer here is strictly talking about co-op. A co-op action-adventure horror game could be pretty fun.

So why the need for the following paragraph? It seems that Electronic Arts has posted a job listing, which seems to indicate that Dead Space 2 will have an online multiplayer component.

'Dementium II' Trailer Scary As Hell

First Footage of 'Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition'

Based on this footage from the Tokyo Game Show, it seems the biggest addition to the director's cut of Resident Evil 5 looks to be the inclusion of the Chris/Jill mansion segment that's only shown in cutscenes throughout the actual game.
