'Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes' Coming To XLA and PSN

Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes was a very fun RPG meets puzzle game for the DS, which had an excellent system and was quite difficult at times. For those who didn't experience the DS game, you'll soon be able to play the game on the Xbox Live Arcade or Playstation Network. It's the same great game, but with HD graphics. Check it out.

    'Scribblenauts 2' Coming This Fall

It was just revealed that Scribblenauts 2 will be coming to the DS this fall. I thought the original was a promising game, but it had too many flaws - namely the same items could be used to solve many of the levels, but most importantly, the game had some horrible controls. Scribblenauts 2 is sounding promising, however, as they're fixing the controls and adding adjectives to the mix.

"According to GoNintendo's notes from the issue, Scribblenauts 2 will have the sort of additions and improvements you'd expect for a game all about random vocabulary: It'll have a whopping 10,000 new words, 120 "new and improved" levels, improved controls (one of the major complaints with the first game), a new hint system, a fleshed out level editor, and apparently it'll focus heavily on adjectives. That last one could potentially open the gameplay possibilities quite a bit, considering adjectives could be used to modify the things you create. For example, maybe you aren't just able to conjure a T-Rex, but a rotund T-Rex? Or -- could you imagine -- a delighted T-Rex?"

'Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes' (DS) – Review

I loved the original Puzzle Quest, as it blended two genres together – puzzle and RPG – and did so in a spectacular way. Along comes Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, which continues the tradition of the genre mash-up, but with a new puzzle system and plenty of strategy to take into consideration. If the idea of an RPG meets strategy game meets puzzle game sounds intriguing to you, this just might be the game to keep you busy.

    'Scribblenauts' (Nintendo DS) – Review

Scribblenauts has been one of the most hyped DS games of all-time, as it won a number of awards this year when it showed at E3. Scribblenauts, however, isn't a game that completely lives up to the hype, which makes me wonder how it won so much in the first place. Did people play the game or just randomly type words in at the title screen and praise it as the best thing ever? While the gameplay is quite fun, the terrible controls are unbearable at times and are easily some of the worst I've ever experienced on the DS.

'Critter Crunch' Gets Release Date and Price

Critter Crunch - the PS3 puzzle game feature cute little critters puking rainbows - has just been given a release date and price. The game will be released on the Playstation Network on October 8th at the low price of only $6.99. I can't wait to get my hands on it and start puking!

    'Scribblenauts' Racism Misunderstood

Scribblenauts is currently involved in a racism scandal, as the word "sambo" is featured in the game. If you type the word in a fruit that looks like a watermelon appears. Some people have claimed that the game is being racist because the word is in there at all, while others claim the game is being racist because "sambo" is an old derogatory word for black people, and one stereotype is that all black people like watermelon. The truth from the Scribblenauts team, however, is the fact that sambo is a watermelon looking gourd/fruit and that's why it appears as it does in the game and why it was included.

Destructoid has more on the subject and the history of sambo and why some people are offended.

    'Zuma's Revenge' (PC) – Review

Zuma's Revenge is everything a sequel should be. The game still features the same basic formula of the original, but yet has expanded upon it in every single way. You've got more intricately designed levels, more modes, new gameplay mechanics, more powerups, and better-looking visuals. I really have to hand it to PopCap – they certainly know how to deliver a proper sequel.

    'Scribblenauts' 22,802 Dictionary Now Available

I'd tell you some of the words on this list, but I don't want to see the list and spoil it for myself. I've already got the game pre-ordered and my own rooster hat waiting for me, so I want to be surprised whenever I type a word in and then BAM there it is. If you want to see what words make-up the 22,802 long dictionary, by all means click on over to this link to see what you can create in the game with the mere typing of a word.

'Bookworm Adventures Volume 2' (PC) – Review

I was a big fan of the original Bookworm Adventures – an amalgamation of the word spelling genre of casual games mixed with some light RPG elements and a whole lot of humor. After proving to be a success, it was only inevitable that a sequel would make its way to fans sooner or later. The time is finally upon us, as Bookworm Adventures Volume 2 is here. It's a lot more of the same, but when the foundation is so solid, you don't want anyone coming around and messing up the place. Besides, where else can you beat up a Shaolin monk by spelling the word fish?

Welcome to Casual Fridays, where you can loosen the tie, put on some jeans, and take it easy. This week's game is Zuma, which is a match-three puzzle game that plays somewhat like Bust-A-Move, though starring a spinning and spitting frog. I thought casual games were supposed to be gentle and soothing, but Zuma gets my heart racing and nerves rattled.

    'Droplitz' (Xbox 360) – Review

Game publisher Atlus is best known for taking chances on JRPGs that probably wouldn't see the light of day in North America if not for their efforts. Droplitz isn't typical of their published games, but it's a casual game treat I'm still glad they decided to back. You will suck. You will be frustrated. You'll then, however, suddenly get it, everything will click, and the next thing you know you're addicted and you've just wasted a few hours (in a good way).
